There is a Lt-Col. C. A. SIMPSON, with the same decorations (O.B.E., T.D.) who is mentioned in the London Gazette in 1968 (https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/...11583/data.pdf). There must be other earlier mentions too.

If you do this search in google: "C. A. SIMPSON" AND 67731 site:https://www.thegazette.co.uk it brings up ten mentions in the LG. See: https://www.google.com/search?as_q=&...egazette.co.uk

One thing I did wonder was whether the captains pips were replaced recently. Simpson was awarded his OBE and TD when he was a Lt. Colonel, so if the medal ribbons were original to the tunic it should show that rank. Alternatively, maybe a later medal bar was added to the earlier tunic after it was disposed of.

    Regards, Philip

Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Anthony Simpson, TD (67731), The King's Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool). (From Wiki) He was awarded his OBE in 1966 (http://discovery.nationalarchives.go...ils/r/D7630750).

I'm a bit puzzled by the bomb disposal badge, I thought this was a task for the Royal Engineers? And would this be a normal job for a captain?
