I have a pair of Canadian overshoes dated 1942 that I have been unable find information on. They look like normal 4 buckle felt overshoes, but they have a glossy rubber heel, toe and sole. The marking inside are "GOPHER" then a logo with "MINER MADE IN CANADA." Underneath the logo it reads "WALKER" "1942" and then I believe it the size marking "12"

Are these common infantryman boots or were they even used by the Army at all? Any help would be appreciated!
