Really nice helmet and a liner we all need in our collection. Congratulation on the great find.

Thanks guys for the great comments. The Rayon has darkened through nicotine/sweat/dirt,afterall this is an original fielded set that saw service, both shell and liner show matching age/wear etc, and this came from a fellow collectors personal collection of some 30 years plus, glad you all liked this one............
got to ask jake. do mean by first run, the fact that its a fixed bail.
Or was there a first run of fixed bails, the difference perhaps being the shape of the bails and the way they are welded to the shell.
or is it something else mate.
I agree these two look like they have been together for ever. A nice catch.
all the best
Rod
Fantastic set with a great condition Hawley Liner. That would make any M1 collector proud to own.
Congrats on that one
