2nd Lt. Named fixed bale Schlueter helmet

Article about: Does anyone know what the b-52 means on this helmet? The helmet is named to a Gilbert Wilson, the only person I could find was a 2nd Lt. Gilbert wilson with the 301st BG 352nd squadron. The

    Navy ones are marked USN so that sort of sorts that one out so if it is USAAF helmet I wonder if he flew in one of the bombers and wore that helmet when the flak started. If you find out anymore about the guy who owned this helmet don't forget to post it here

    Fantastic early "S" Fixed looped set Marty,never seen an example with such an early Heatstamp,do you own it Bud?if you do then a massive well done to you,can't help with the markings.

    Maybe post it on the USMF to see if someone there knows about the markings?

    I emailed Troy at USMF this morning to have him post the pictures for me. I have not heard from him. I have trouble resizing pictures to post on that forum. If any one here can help that would be great. Marty
