    Default American Helmet?

    Guys,

I'm not too good on 'friendly forces' kit.

Is this in your opinion war time or post war, is it even US?

I can't find any marking inside or out as it is a bit rusty.

Its too late I've already bought it but it was cheap and chearful so no great loss if it's post war.

    Thanks

it looks like a late war helmet to me 1945 ish most american helmets of ww2 have the rim seam at the front and fixed bales but towards the end of the war they changed to rear seams and swivel bales,
but the shape looks ok may have been used in korea post ww2

deff US issue as already said could be late war issue as rear seemed swivel loops helmets were used then as well as Korean war or even early Vietnam use as well.
there should be a number stamped on the inside to the front on the peak of the helmet normally its a set of numbers with a letter after it ???????

I agree, if it has the stamp on the front inner lip, then WW2 if not then Korea onward

    Guys,

    Thanks for the info.

I will clean the inside as it is more rusted, it looks like it has rested upsidedown for a few years. Claims to be barn found here in Germany but I suppose plenty of troops shipped to Korea from here too.

    Thanks again.

    Perce,

If its at the right price you have to take it, it was €6 therefore worth a flutter.

You still up for swaps, have you been busy?
