Hi zwerge,
I think that it might be an unissued helmet as it is dated 83, and that is at the end of the time for that type of helmet as Kavlar came in then.
panzer 3 dave.
Does the helmet have a frount seem in it a joint were a small band come's together if it's in the back it is not WW2
Disregared the last message I thought you were thinking it was of WW2 vintage Sorry Darrell
You can see by the liner, chinstraps and the helmet cover that it is a US M1 helmet from the Vietnam era. - Its quite nice. Lucky you
/Mick
seen this on eBay i tend to stay away from these don't like never used lids & it not Vietnam as its dated 1983 & the Vietnam war ended in 1975
Woops, missed the "dated" thred, hehe, well it still looks like a Vietnam liner.
the Woodland camo cover is also 1980's and matches the Woodland camo BDU's of the same time period.
Wolfman you beat me Not vietnam. There was a huge surplus in the 80's.
It is a paratrooper helmet inner shell from the 80's that appears to match the steel pot but without the camo cover on it i can not tell.
rgds, Ty
Do you want a picture of it without the camo cover ?
