Default Another M1 Korean War Helmet

I will have to admit I do love these Korean War era M1s and this one was a steal for just under 20 and a little over 24 delivery and the bonus was, no customs fees I do like to sniff out a bargain on eBay. This M1 is a McCord manufactured helmet with a stamp of M 172A these helmets were produced from 1951 to 1958. It has the green OD painted on the steel buckles and fittings, it also has its original factory applied light OD with sand for the texture. The liner is a WW2 Firestone liner with blackened brass A washers which dates from mid 1944 to the end of the war. It retains its ww2 period sweatband and is missing a nape strap and the tie cord. The liner itself has been repainted a dark green which you see a lot on re used ww2 liners but on closer examination there are 3 different layers of paint (first layer factory applied light matt OD, second layer a glossy light OD and the third layer a glossy dark green). You will also note that there is something written on the front of the liner and to be honest I haven't got a clue what it says, so answers on a postcard people thanks for looking guys.

Another great KW period setup,so many ww2 liners stayed in service well into the 50's,it beggers belief the amount of repaints these sets recieved, have to say Ian your certainly consistent on showing your great collection, keep up the good work Bud.
    With Regards Jake.
