Article about: nah thats ok im trying to get a rough date of the shell but the heat stamp you gave as 499A doesn't seem right as its to low for a swivel bail these came into use in November 43 & by thi

    Default Another M1 for the U.S. Collection

    Hi all, While at a gun show looking for M2 Ball 30-06 (I did get some.), There was a swapmeet going on also, I found this all Vietnam M1 helmet (I think all correct pieces) for 40$. I tried to get a picture of the stamp on the inside of the rim, but failed but the stamp is: 499A. Under the layer of paint is red coat of paint and under that is a green coat. George A

    very nice & a good price to

    with the chin strap being sewn on the shell it may be Korean war era could we see pic's of the shell without the cover & also the better pic's of the straps

    yeah cool looks to be a reissued Korean war helmet with that dark green paint job as well as the sewn on chin straps

    just a couple of questions dose it have a front or rear seam & would it be possible to get a close up clear shot of the bails ???
