blood on m1 helmet

hello, this may be a stupid question, but i was going over a helmet i had and i noticed that on the chinstrap there were drops of a red-orange stuff and that made me wonder if the same color on the helmet wasnt just a from rust and maybe it is blood to. what do you think? does anyone else have anything like this?

Blood that has been on cloth or leather for 60+ years
will have turned dark brown or black.........

thanks for the help, i still think this was a stupid question. so it would almost bled in with koran war helmets strap that are OD7? thanks.

yes, i was just circleing with my artistic skills. could the color be diffrent because of the navy blue? while i was at it i thought i would ask if anyone knew what could have gone in the yellow on the front from one of my pictures. it had to be some king of insignia with the navy anf i couldnt fing any with this shape on the web.

Looks like rust spots on those straps. Also there in yellow looks
like lettering - anything could have been painted on the helmet.
Used car dealership ? Retirement date ? Church group ?
Too far gone to tell.........
