    Default Captain's Helmet w/ Netting

Some might have seen this a while ago on GHW when I first got it, but I've taken some better pictures of it this past summer. I got this one in a trade from a good friend of mine 2 years ago at the SOS. It's an early helmet with the brass raised-bar chinstrap. The liner is also an early Westinghouse with the fold-back nape straps on the back. A cool feature on this helmet is that the soldier pinned his 1st Lieutenant bar to his leather chinstrap. The same laundry stamp of S-2516 is also found on the khaki chinstrap but is pressed against the shell.

    All comments and opinions welcome!

    Thanks for looking.

Well so did I Mads, but not according to Chris Arnold he claims these 3/4 inch types were supplied by Canada and arrived by the box load ahead of D-day,the Brits used the 1/2 inch thick woven followed by the knotted types in various colours, from light brown to darkest green......
