    Hi Marty,

    I would say this is a post war applied (fake) paint on a good original M1 helmet. Notice there are scrathes only on the painted insignia.

    It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

    That is what I also told him. He bought out a whole collection and I saw it this afternoon I believe they are all post war on... Well were good helmets. Marty

    The biggest tell tale signs of fake painted Helmets is when the only area's scratched are within the markings,everything outside of that is un-touched as is always the case,if the markings were truely 70 years old then there would be consistent wear over the whole Helmet,notice how all the olive drab area's are in unmarked condition.............

    Jake, that is what I also told him there so no wear on the top or really anywhere for that matter.

    I wold not buy it.
    Also, usually if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
