    I knew that the M1 helmet was used for many other things than head protection.

    This picture is quite impressive, as it shows a Field Lavatory with many Helmets in a row to be used for Hygiene-purposes..

    I dont know which era the picture is from, but its still quite illustrative..

    I've never seen this photo but I've seen others with M1's being used in similar fashion.
