Hi, looks like a standard US para helmet from the 1970's-80's to me, it may be a touch earlier but it is not a second world war lid. It is missing it's internal liner chinstrap and nape strap. Also the steel shell's chinstrap is incorrect for the para liner, so I guess this is a "put together" parts helmet. Leon.

Personally I would leave it, the liner straps look pretty rotten and I think they will rip apart at any moment. Leon.
