Hello,
I need some help with dating this Firestone helmet liner. Not in the best condition.
The A washers are brass but heavely corroded.
Is this wartime or post war?
Greetings,
Geert

Is that an air vent up front? Usually a sign of WWII. NH
Yes an air vent
Firestone did not make liners after WWII, the only manufacturers after WWII are Micarta (Westinghouse) and Capac.
The liner itself is WWII manufactured but I would wager a guess that it was post war used based on the repaint.
Agree with Nickman. NH
I think its early-ish war production because of the A-washers not being blackened.
Thxs guys for all the info!!!

Ww2 for sure, looks like it seen some action in its time too.
Not an air vent, It's used for insignia. Usually rank insignia but also branch insignia was used. Liner is ww2 production
^Thanks for that correction. It is sometimes called an air vent incorrectly like I just did! NH
