Default Fixed bale front seam early m-1 shell with general stars and unknown decals

I am selling off my collection due to age and ill health but need to identify the insignia on the right side of the helmet.i recognize the indian head as the 2nd infantry division but not the the snarling emblem on the right side of the helmet.the fixed bale and front seam with the stainless steel rim suggest an early issue helmet. I was told that this helmet was owned by major general robert young during his command of the 2nd division which he commanded in korea from 1951-1952 and was commander of the division during the battle of heartbreak ridge.but could this be?????? Would he wear an early helmet and can the decal on the right side be identified. I will place the helmet liner uo separately because of space limitations. Thank you for your comments.

Default Inner liner of major general's m-1 early helmet

I apologize for needing to separate the inner liner from the outer m-1 shell posted 15 minutes ago, but i believe that the members need the whole helmet and liner of general youngs??????? Helmet worn in korea 1951-1952.?????? Any comments welcome even if derisive. I BELIEVE THE LINER IS AN EARLY WAR ISSUE BUT AM NOT SURE?

As Lee states above, the emblem is the Tank Destroyer Battalion.

    It was deactivated by 1946........

i have received information from a gentleman who specialisms in 2nd div tank destroyer battalions. he verifies the authenticity of the insignia.
i doubt that this helmet belonged to general young. in ww2 he had a high staff position in washington and later commanded an infantry division.my personal view is that someone may have added the stars unless a member with more knowledge than me knows better.generals can make their own rules. montgomery had a personal beret with a tank corps badge and a generals bullion badge and no one complained.

Out of curiosity ... would not the stars on the inner helmet get damaged when the "inner" was placed back in the "outer" .. either leaving a mark on the inner surface of the outer shell ... or the faces of the stars would be scratched ?
