Wow!!!! $65 for a near mint Hawley liner??? And I thought I got a bargain for mine (with much more wear and as Jake notes the oft missing chin strap) at $300....
I saw this thread earlier in the day on my cell phone but waited to view it until I got home from work....should have looked earlier. A great surprise!
Congratulations!!!!!

Yes, I was waiting for you to put a post on. The lady at the antique place I got it from said there were two guys fighting about the helmet, 1 was saying ww2 and the other korean war. I guess knowledge won is this case.

I could have been worn anytime but the condition leads me to believe it was a shelf queen anyway which might be in line with the M/Sgt rank.....but just an opinion with no factual basis. That said the M/SGT looks newer. The tape does not look old...

It very well could of bin. The tape is not yellowed or very britte. The brown strap is very fragile. It will not be messed with and it was definitely used. Just the typical use around the fixed bale and such. Nice example and from the sounds of it, in this condition. Makes me wonder what else will show up where I bought it

Again. A great score. Right place and right time! And listen to Jake. He is the guy I turn to when it comes to M1's!
