Looks fine to me. Does it have a liner?
Maybe it was a Captain's helmet. Maybe
Hi,
It is front seam swival bale, mid W.W.2, issue but doesnt have the
original corked paint so probably reissue post war. most were
reissued for the Korean war and vietnam, The insignia is not original to the helmet as it is far to large and looks home made.
But very nice shell. you need to see what decals are on it.
dave.
Hi,
the decals look like medic !, but dont look original some how.
dave
its not front seemed that seem is to the rear the paint to me looks wrong as well as the decals & chin strap Ive got a feeling its not even US but im probably wrong
I dont have the liner for it. I also think it is a medic helmet with post war captain marks on. I dont know if it is a ww2 or a vietnam war helmet. I have seen a metic helmet just like this in the movie band of brothers.
looks like a foreign copy of the US M1 helmet, could be a Dutch, German or Austrian copy?
the seam doesnt look like US and the bales look different, I dont think it's a WWII helmet, probably post war 1950's 1960's era
Looks to be a late WWII produced front seam swivel loop helmet updated for the Korean war era or later. Those medic insignia under the paint were used until the early Vietnam era when it was dropped from usage. Nice lid!
