Here is a 85th Infantry helmet that was found in Schnackenburg (Germany). This helmet doesn´t belong to me but to a friend who lives in Germany. His English isn´t very good, so I thought I would make him a favor and post it here. He absolutely wants to identify the soldier! The problem is that I searched for the Serial Number but didn´t find anything.

"W-1204" : W is the first letter of his name an 1204 the last 4 numbers of his army Serial Number? But I don´t understand the "0922" inside the shell? Maybe the 4 first numbers of the ASN, but I can´t find anything! I hope anyone can help me/my friend!

    Greetings from Luxembourg

Here are the results for the Laundry mark:

The 0922 might be a laundry mark as well, it's not rare to see different laundry marks on the shell and the liner.

    EDIT:
There appears to be one more laundry mark in the shell in this picture?:

If you can find a roster for the 84th, you might be able to pick him out from one of these 83 candidates:
