    Default Interesting M1 helmet cover

Just watching the excellent 'Lost airman of Buchenwald' (highly recommend it if you haven't seen it) and saw this clip of US soldiers in France. The footage appears to be original colour (as opposed to being black and white that has been coloured). The G.I. at the back appears to have a helmet cover made from German splinter pattern camo. Having watched the short clip the pattern on it suggests that it is a piece of zeltbahn as opposed to a cover made for a German helmet, although it looks like it fits the M1 helmet quite tightly. Quite brave if it is German camo - I wouldn't want to be poking my head over any walls wearing it!
