I bought the shell in an ebay sleeper auction back in 2000. I was the second bidder and got it for $40. I added the stars and the liner to make it display nicer. Screwback stars are a bugger to find...especially in Canada. Would be nice if it was a used helmet with provenance, but having an original GO helmet of any kind is just as nice. It has a low heat stamp number 53C.

First pic is from 2000 just after it arrived in the mail.

Only thing I know is that it came from San Bernardino. And honestly, I don't think it was ever used. There is no evidence that it had stars, or anything else, mounted on it. I'm guessing it was a helmet that was modified for a purpose but never used. It is a repaint as shown by the scribed line to get the holes even. Also has three chalk lines on the inside

very nice maybe it was a spare helmet that was never used or used but just never had the stars added sure would have been nice to have had more about its history.

Great piece, thanks for sharing. I always wondered how the stars were attached.

Nice helmet, I've never run across one like that. Definitely a keeper.

Thanks guy's. I like it too. I do wish it had a story behind it but it is was it is.

I forgot to post the pic of the screwback attachments. Hope to find one more star that matches the other two...someday.
