My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

I have done thorough research on the name on this helmet, and I think you will like the results!
I believe that this helmet belonged to a Captain Jack Irving Zeger, born September 7th, 1917. He graduated from dental school at the University of Maryland in 1941, and then served as the ship's dentist aboard the USS Chateau Thierry (AP-31), which saw service in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, and in particular, the Invasion of Sicily. He continued his practice after the war and died in Connecticut on January 7th, 1999. Of interest, I am pretty sure (judging by various bits of evidence I found while researching Captain Zeger) that he was Jewish.
Given the nature of his service, it probably explains the medical tape and relatively unworn condition that this helmet exhibits.
I collect helmets and I put the researched and identified ones on my top shelf. I really love this one, so please let me know if you would like to sell it someday!
