I realize this is not a WWII m-1 helmet...most likely Vietnam or post-Nam.
Anyway, does anyone know what the white strip on this helmet signifies. My guess is that it is a training helmet..

I agree with you - Vietnam era. Not sure on the stripe though.........

Better pictures would help, but it looks like tape residue? It was/is common to have tape on helmets during training in certain schools. Like basic, or Airborne, Air Assault, etc.. Or, it could be for certain duties that NCO's fulfill such as instructor, OC, range safety and so on. Lots of possibilities.
