m1 chinstrap

hi all, i have just got me a late 1944 m1 helmet,very nice helmet, but i need a little info,the chinstrap is a medium green colour, with steel painted black clips / fittings,
is that correct/
i had an early m1 once and the strap was much lighter colour with brass clips/fittings.
hope you can help

the chin strap sounds like a late to post war version ??

hiya mate heres the pics you sent me just needed to re-size them

from these the paint on the shell looks to be a dark OD green if this is right theres a chance its been reissued during the Korean war when this type of chin strap would have come into full use but in saying that this type of chin strap was in use very late in the war but not very common.
