M1 fixed bail with original net
Hello gents , just bought this one at the fair in Belgium from a guy that finds a lot of stuff out of the woodwork in France.
I am at heart German helmet collector but own a couple of M1's.
I hope you like it.
The net is stuck to the outside of the inner shell , I tried to lift it but did not force it so I wisely put it back as it was.
The inner helmet seems to have been repainted in a strange color.
The liner is CAPAC and the chinstrap hardware is copper.
Happy new year.

Hello Chris , I can lift it a little that's what I did to photographs the paint but the net is stuck to it further down so I don't want to force it.

Found in France.

All appears a nice shell. If it was me, I would have to see what was on the liner. A strange paint indeed.

Nice helmet Frank, the chin strap buckle looks to be raised bar, brass.

Thanks,
Not worth damaging the net for in my opinion. The net is really stuck to the paint so I will either destroy the net or the paint or both. I always wanted one which had the net on for a long long time. I do not think it will yield more information.
The liners were repainted often because they lost paint easily it will always be hard to say when this was done.
