M1 Helmet help

Article about: it all looks to be good the liner is a nice early Nam era version the shell & straps looked good as for the cover there is a way of dating it from the from the stamp on the brown side. t

    Well, it was apparently sold.

    I believe it's of the Vietnam period - what I could see of it - cover & straps.
    Looked in very good condition and probably in the ball park.........

    Did you buy it? i Don't know alot about them but it looks like a great display piece for $80 bucks!!

    yep i brought it a few days ago i hope its a good buy im only 16 and dont know a lot but i want to start collecting and this is gonna start me off so i hope i got a decent buy

    You've done well on your first militaria purchase.........!

    There are several guys here who 'specialize' in American M1 helmets,
    and hopefully they will pick up on this thread and give you
    more information on it.

    This can be quite an interesting, worthwhile and addictive hobby !

    Below is a typical WWII M1 - this one has been repainted.
    Khaki coloured chinstraps are sewn to the 'bales' which
    were usually the type that are 'fixed', or non-swivelling.
    There are several types of netting.
