This is a Dutch (Netherlands) helmet. The model of 1953, M53 or "troepenhelm".

The mark in the rim says VB 56; indicating the producer, the year of manufacture and the lot number.

The helmet was produced from 1953 till about 1957 by VerBliFa. A company that produced helmets since before WW2.

The M53 was used by The Netherlands, Luxemburg and in very small quantities by Belgium.
