i think medics in the pacific made circles instead of crosses because the japanese spotted the cross easier. this seams like a great medic lid. i hope someone else can help to find the man who owned the helmet.

Could be true on this statement. However I have only seen medic/corpsman lids from the PTO with a circle on the front and back, never on the sides. But this M1 could be an exception. Like you said, someone may be able to find the man and that could bring me closer to finding out what the markings mean

Uncovered the rear insignia to find a crude circle. Again, it has traces of light blue.
