    US Army Officer's visor cap eagle and a DI - Distinctive Insignia - Certainly been
    on there a while, but not regulation. Likely a post-war mod.........

    Was it standard on post war? I thought it was post war with the od green.

    Original WWII helmet with rare Hawley liner. Post-war added badges.........

    Nice early McCord fixed bale with a really nice looking Hawley liner Fantastic! as far as the emblems those where installed post war Korean maybe, you see this a lot during that time period on some helmets usually Civilian civil service or military Volunteer helmets, its a legit piece.

    Sweet. im currently bidding on it. soon as i saw the haeley liner i bid straight away.

    What about the eagle? Is that an officers badge?

    it might be a USAAF officers hat emblem the same emblem is on a NCO's wheel cover/crush cover that is backed by a round brass disc and is smaller. the officers version is alittle bigger and does not have the disc accompanying it. So it might be a officers cover emblem, I cant tell if that's brass or pewter color Im not to good with distinguishing color variances.
