    Default M1C helmet Vietnam War era

    Had this helmet cover for a couple of months now and have been looking for a suitable helmet to pair it up with. It reads ‘God is my Jumpmaster’ so I assume it has a connection with a US airborne regiment. It also has other graffiti as can be seen in the pics but all done on the fall side of the cover. The Mitchell cover has the contract info to date it to 1965. The helmet is manufactured by Ingersoll who received contracts in 1967. The liner is made by MARMAC and is the nylon version of the type II liner and has the date 24MAR64. They were making these type II liners with duck cotton and resin up until 1965 and these were transitional liners until production of the nylon type II liners took over.
    Thanks for looking guys Cool militaria

    Nice one!

    I have to say I like these and they do display very well.

    I don't specialise in these but I somehow ended up with a few on my shelf

    Here's another which I am sure I posted before but it does no harm to add comparison;

    PS Having a file selection problem with my PC. Two of those pics, the liner exterior and liner stamp are from a different helmet and I can't delete them for some reason. Sorry!

    "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
