Im so happy with this one so I would like to share with you my newest member in the helmet collection. And what a beauty it is. First a little story what i know from the helmet since he came in my collection.

I bought it from someone who lives in Saarlois in Germany. He bought the helmet in ~1962 in Montebourg/quineville, close to the battery of st. Marcouf from someone in a farm. This helmet, according to him, took part in the landings (d-day+4?). I Cannot proof it ofcourse. The helmet is unchanged (except missing the tie in top of the liner) since then.

    Well some pics:
    exterior

close up of the markings. It looks like a part in the middle of the insignia is scratch away to mark it as a Lt.

    fixed bale

    very early one 170A

    green buckle

    And now the liner:
Its a firestone. What i like is the green buckle, and the green painted washers. So dated around second part of 1943. And the Lt. marking

    hope you liked the pictures.
