Hi nick,
Nice helmet the shell looks like a late war rear seam swival bale
going by the sown on straps and they are khaki. but the liner i think is an early Nam issue, if the shell was a reissue to Vietnam
it would have the metal fixings to the strap hangers. i think the shell is a good buy.

wow just googled his name & this is what i got Kivela, Harold G, b. 08/19/1927, d. 07/21/1992, US Air Force, SSGT, Res: San Antonio, TX, Plot: 20 0 587, bur. 07/24/1992 how lucky was that
Nice buy with some interresting history. Great purchase

hi Nick,
Yeah i would be shocked as well i cant believe you just put his name in and out it came, wow. i wish all the helmets were named then it would be a lot easier to research, i have only one named helmet out of seventeen of them and thats because it was grave dug ( russian) i envy you it,s nice to have provenance to the helmet.
