Named ww2 Chaplain m1 helmet

Here's one more Chaplain helmet I just got in today. The helmet is named to US Army Lt. LeRoy Nattress was served in the Pacific Theater on Sapain and was awarded the Bronze Star and unit citation. The liner has a great camo painted on and his name is on the webbing on the inside.Thanks to Scott Stevens from US militria forum for parting with this helmet.

Great helmet !! Provenance !!
So many of these are "done up", a minefield that is dangerous to walk on, same as the medic helmets or officer badged M1's. Too risky to pursue without proof.
Camo is not bad either

David thanks for the thumbs up. You are so right about all the fake helmets. A friend told me once all the good fakes will be real in 30years, it sad but his point was valid. The camo liner is not the sexiest but is unusual on a Chaplain helmet.

I have found many story concerning this Chaplain and the Godly influence he had on soldiers and Marines, from helping with the sick and dying to personal problems that shaped young men.
