need help identifying a helmet

Article about: by NickD its a WESTINGHOUSE made liner. the liner \\$50-\\$60 the shell if you're lucky \\$20-\\$30 wow thats more then i thought i payed \\$25 for the helmet guess i got a good deal

    would have paid $25 for it........!

    haha thanks thats the first helmet i ever bought i saw it a week ago and looked for 1 like it online and decided i would take a chance on it and i always wanted a old/vintage army helmet so i figured even if it wasnt WWII i would still be happy about it but at least half of it is WWII im excited about it but whould would this helmet be called if i wanted to tell people the name of the helmet and what the D 29 stands for inside the liner

    I would just call it a U.S. Army Helmet. 'D 29' is probably one of the manufacturers
    lot/batch numbers. The leather chin strap in the liner fits over the steel pot's
    brim when the liner is placed inside the helmet:

    WWII front seem shells are still pretty easy to find and much cheeper than the liner, you've got the costlier piece in hand already. Just keep your eyes open and you'll have yourself a complete WWII lid in time.
