    It looks great, Gaz !

Hard to tell it is not an original cork finish.

You now need to gently 'scuff ' the shell in obvious places
(like the dome) to more or less match the rim.

Wait until a hot, humid day when your hands are very damp,
then rub them on the surface too. This will give it
a bit darker, slightly 'used' appearance.
    Hi Steve.

Thanks good tips, i will use them, on the pics it looks pretty authentic, but maybe I should have shown it,next to the real deal for comparison. But this is for display only, and would not fool an expert for a minute.

But this is my first restoration, and I am well chuffed with the result, and thanks again for your approval/tips

    Hi Gaz,
What can we say, a superb job done there it is really good to see that old helmet come back to life, alot better than the glowing helmet lol.

    Hi Dave.

Thanks Mate, and I totally agree with you, I'm not sure how long I could have kept looking at the Neon lid,it had to be restored
