Hi , Definetely Dutch, you can tell by the leather head band , they had the the little leather tabs that clip onto the webbing, and as its blue Gendarmerie( royal Military Police ) the steel pot if Dutch too, has got the wrong type of chin straps.

The attached pic is a Dutch headband.

    cheers

    Hi!

thanks a lot for your information!

I like that it is dutch because I'm a dutchman.
Any idea how old it is? Is it a repro?

    Best wishes,

I agre with Gaz. The liner is Dutch. Probably a civic police helmet liner. The Marechausee used black, white or white washed green ones.

This liner is most likely marked. Might be SH, SW, EC/NL, BEC, U or something else.

The steel shell is not Dutch to my mind. Wrong strap buckle. Dutch M1 clones are marked in the under side of the front rim. Might be: VDN, LS, Lot Us, SW or VB , followed by a couple of figures indicating year of manufacture and heat number.

    Cheers,
    Emile

    Hi Mate,

Like Emileverbunt says, in the liner it should be marked for example if is says...
SW 79 , then it would be made by Schuberth in 1979, the Dutch used this type of lid from 53- 95 roughly, but your's is '70's issue, which would go with flares and glamrock ... oops sorry wrong forum...

Hopefully yours is a Verblifa (VB) if so it would be home grown as VB were made in Holland.

    Cheers Mate.

There is quite a large number of post war copies doing the rounds at the moment, I know of several U.K. surplus wholesalers that have large stocks of Belgium, Austrian and also Dutch helmets based on the M1 design seeing as these are now totally obsolete for combat use.
