Default Opinions On This McCord Shell - WWII Division Headquarters MP Example?

    Greetins all,
Another of my latest pickups, in vast contrast to my other new shell, this one is almost a relic and layers of paint have been removed. It is an interesting shell though. It is an early McCord, that appears to have had at least one postwar repaint. Interestingly, the MP and red stripe appears to be just on-top of the WWII texture and paint. I recall reading somewhere that red stripes were not officially standard on MP shells untill the late 1950's but Division Headquarters Military Police did often paint the stripe in red during WWII. Probably an issue that can never be properly solved but I would be interested in other opinions here.
