Quick question; I've just gotten my hands on a 70's M1-C Liner, it lacked a chinpad, however inside it I found the nape strap, tied to the webbing. It has holes punched into it, and one of the staps cut off, so it fits as a chincup. Is this a common field mod, or was this done by some kid recently?

    Cheers,

Was worried it might confuse people.
So, to explain better. Imagine turning one of these:
    Para-helmet nape strap

    Into one of these:
    Para-helmet nape strap

By cutting off the vertical strap and punching holes in the horizontal ones. I dont have a camera handy as Im not at home. Is that any better?

Was this a common field mod, or more likely just some kids work?
