    i wanted to know if they ever made schlueter shells without the S below. thank you.

    sometimes it was lightly stamped and can be worn away because it's stamped where the liner rubs the shell a lot.

    ok thank you, i have heard that the shape of the schlueter and mccord are didffrent, is this true? if so do you think you would be able to tell me if i took photos comparing it with my stamped shlueter?

    its the curve of the rim that differs the two.i personally cant tell either way by looking at them but some can...............Jake.update-the rim on a schlueter is much straighter the McCord my favourite has much more of a curve to the rim.

    I wouldn't dwell on it too much Danny there are far more things to worry about,personally i never give it a thought,as long as its front seamed thats good enough to own a piece of vintage ww2 history.........Jake.

    yes, well you are right jake it is ok since i know the date aand it comes with a great story. its a great piece of history.

    You really should buy the book "The M1 Helmet of the World War II GI" by Oosterman.
    That would answer a lot of your questions.
    Schlueters are not really that rare.
