sometimes it was lightly stamped and can be worn away because it's stamped where the liner rubs the shell a lot.
ok thank you, i have heard that the shape of the schlueter and mccord are didffrent, is this true? if so do you think you would be able to tell me if i took photos comparing it with my stamped shlueter?
its the curve of the rim that differs the two.i personally cant tell either way by looking at them but some can...............Jake.update-the rim on a schlueter is much straighter the McCord my favourite has much more of a curve to the rim.
neitheer can i thats why i need help
I wouldn't dwell on it too much Danny there are far more things to worry about, personally i never give it a thought,as long as its front seamed thats good enough to own a piece of vintage ww2 history.........Jake.
Hello chaps,
here's a brilliant guide written by Nick on the M1 helmet sub-forum. Some rear-seam pots can be ww2 too take a look.

You really should buy the book "The M1 Helmet of the World War II GI" by Oosterman.
