Hi, I am looking to get early low pressure liners for my collection and found this one on ebay but had a concern. For some reason this looks different to me then others. Other then that, on the sides, it looks like it was cut or something like that.

It isn't right. Looks like it has been trimmed on both sides and it doesn't have the letters SC stamped in white in the crown. Don't bid on it. A real piece of crap.

And I am pretty sure the outside looks more like a high pressure shell then a low pressure one because of the strips

These liners sometimes were adapted for civilian use (hard hat) or were sold as toys.

I reckon this one is a hard hat. Quite collectible in it's own right.

    Cheers,

It doesn't look that bad to me. Just my humble opinion. I saw a st Clair in the M1 helmet book that also looked trimmed. Depends on the price for me.

You would be better to leave it there are plenty of clean St. Clair's out there better off to wait for a nicer one than to settle for less

I think it is $60 with no bidders

I may bid on it if it stays at $60. What do you have to lose. The steel pot is worth that amount by itself. It is a WWII FS SB pot I believe.
