Default Strange Chin Strap on a US M1

    Hello all,

I am looking for some opinions on this US M1. Not really looking to buy it but I was hoping some can identify this strange style of chin strap. You can see in the photo the green mid war A washers. It is hard to tell if it is front or rear seem. The net to me looks to have some genuine age, but the photo is clearly not the best. Let k a know what you think and if you have seen other similar chin straps!

I would say an Austrian M58 also known as the Type 2.

Possibly a reissued US M1 with later plastic liner. The chinstrap is of German design.

    Cheers,
    Emile

Thanks Emile! I did notice the color of the liner was strange.
