Got it. it was rusted in there. Can't see any distinguishable heat stamp but the paint is still pretty thick on the visor and by the bales.
well it sounds like its a late WW2 US made shell re-painted & re-issued for the Korean war & possibly may have seen action in Vietnam as well ?

I wonder if it might've been used for training because the USAF base out here was running through all of that and the liner has a 48 wrote on the side. Possibly inventory tracking. That's how we kept track of stuff in our supply when I was in Security Forces out there.
thats a possibility as for value $20 to $40 not worth much im afraid as this type of M-1 is fairly common.
