another possibility is that its a 1950's (Korean war era) made shell but im unfamiliar with these so im not sure what the heat stamp numbers look like ??

Just had another look but cannot see the letter S I have also cleaned around the numbers and it is M-131A.

well i cant give you a date i can only say it is either a Schlueter made shell with the S missing or its a 1950's made McCord shell cant really be of much more help then that sorry.

i have a m1 helmet that the inner stamp numbers seem to say: either I 2524 or 1 2524; could anybody tell me anything about that? its a nam era rear seam

the use of heat stamp numbers as a way of dating the shell can only be applied to WW2 manufactured lids.
