Us helmet, original? Please help

Can someone please help me? This is a us helmet, is he from ww2? And from which year is it?

I do not believe the helmet is a US helmet. The shape does not look correct nor the bales, the leather chinstrap is not US. The liner maybe and probably is US.

Have to agree the shell looks off at best the swivel loops are the wrong shape plus the way the Liner sits completly out of shape in the shell,the liner is genuine ww2 US last production type june 1944-august 1945.however the shell could be a postwar re-issue to a EU country hence the loops but if this was a genuine ww2 US shell it would be extremely rare as it carries a rear seamed stainless steel rim which are seldom seen only a hand were used in this configuration.
