    Default US M1 Fixed bail

    Hello guys ,

Haven't posted in this forum section yet , this is one of the 3 US helmets in my collection of predominantly German ones.

I got it from author Tom Kibler whom got it directly from the vets family.

The vets laundry number is painted in the shell , I also have a print out from his public NARA file.
The vet is Novak Henry - enlisted in November 1942.

The heat nr is not visible. The liner is a Westinghouse.

    The leather strap I added.

Thanks everyone , I have to admit that moving to a field you are not familiar with isn't such a big step if you come from German helmets , eye for detail comes with experience I believe. No matter what you collect it will help you question details. Of course I asked opinions of collectors experienced in this field and I'm sure I have a lot to learn still.
That for me is the fun part.

I'll post my other M1 a swivel bale Schleuter soon , that one also comes from the vet's family via a dealer and is named with his military number.
