are you sure its WW2 as thats a very high number would it be possible to get any pics ?
No sorry he olny brought it for one day. He has a cpac liner that is marked with his name and us marines 1945. So idk then.
It also looked like a G996
ok well with a number like that it place's it around September 1944 manufacture
Where did he serve? My dad entered the USMC in 1945 and was sent to China as part of the build up force when the thought was we might have to invade Japan to end the war. They might know one another!
Actully a student gave it to him a couple years ago because he didnt want it. And he asked me if i could help him with with my limited knowladge of m1s i identified the liner and Nick identified the heat stamp for me.
Nice story nick my other great uncle kenny enterd the army in 1945 but didnt get done with traning until the end of the war he eventully was stationed in occupied japan for 2 years.
