Us navy helmet
Hello,
I’ve found this helmet in a car boot sale.
Liner is westinghouse. Brass blackened a washers. Name in it but cannot read it.
Blue navy color.
Helmet shell with blue gray painted band on lower side. Front seam
Rest of shell is green paint.
Can someone tell me if it’s wartime?
What batalion could it be?

The blue band signifies Navy Combat Demolition Unit (NCDU)
Mate, don't be disheartened.....there's hundreds of M1-ites here (I ain't one of them)...and they can talk the hind leg off a donkey about seams, lugs, bales (or bails?), cork, nape straps..the whole 9 yards...and back again! :-)
They're great guys and I'm confident they'll be able to help you...but for some reason, despite the whole world being at home, responses seem to have slowed down. Give it a few more days..

The shell is a WW2 one
Front seam swievel bail produced at mid 1943
The liner seem Navy Used
But the big question is, when it was reissued as Navy Helmet
The Band seem Korean War time 1950-53
The liner seem Wartime like the Colour of the shell
IMO a good Helmet

The expert said it was used during the Korean war

Other opinions?
There are remnants of red paint on the right side, but it's minor. Almost not visible which pattern.
