USMC Fixed-Bale M1

Hey guys,

I picked this up from a local shop today. This helmet has all sorts of awesomeness going for it. It is a fixed-bale and the paint is in great condition. The cover has a faint outline of the USMC symbol on the front. The liner is made by Seaman paper company and judging by the sweatband, it was well-used. Unfortunately the shell stamps are illegible, and the string that holds the khaki suspension loops together is missing, but other than that the helmet is nearly perfect.

According to the dealer, a high school-aged kid came in with it after he had found it in his attic. This is one of those helmets that I wish could talk!

Awesome! Lucky man you are. I am looking for one myself to go with my USMC poncho but its not an easy task in OZ. Well done indeed, really great condition but was also used. What did it set you back if you dont mind me asking.

Camo cover is Korean style. WWII style does not have EGA stamp or camo slits.
Can you post pictures of the opposite side of the cover stitching down the center of the cover?

Stitching is good it is an original cover.

very nice indeed has the cover got any stamps on the inside like the type you would see in Nam era covers with the contract numbers ??

No. I just have a large collection of US military and am familiar with WWII US items.
