    Default USMC M1 helmet cover

Hi guys picked up this helmet cover a few weeks ago just posting up for show. This one is not WW2 and was manufactured by Blue Anchor Overall Company in April 1953 as existing WW2 stocks had become low due to the Korean War. I doubt this helmet cover saw any service during the Korean War but most likely would have been used during the late 50's early 60's when the Vietnam conflict was starting to escalate. There is no sign of an EGA on the jungle side but there is a very faded EGA on the beach side. I have included a picture I found of a soldier wearing this type of cover during the Vietnam war. The hunt is now on for a WW2 cover Thanks for looking guys .

    nice cover.
i found that it had taken me longer to find one of these 50s covers than it was to find a ww2 one. but getting a cover with a ega patch on both sides may take a bit too. looks like to me the guy in the image is wearing a mosquito net helmet cover. the image is of a USMC officer wearing a diamond EGA patch helmet cover Vietnam war.

BTW, your 53' Blue Anchor cover is very nice.
I have 3 complete rigs with these covers that are in as found condition (the covers are basically molded to the helmets).
    I really like them.

I would like to find a Mitchel pattern cover with a diamond EGA patch.

I am not sure if they are real or just a fantasy piece.
Have you ever seen photos of them being used?
    I have not.

I just did a Google search as I didn't know they did them on Mitchell covers but had seen them on USMC covers. I took a screen shot and that is a sweet cover
