    Hello,

Here is a new addition to the last few weeks. He comes from a estate. Unfortunately, the grandnephew had no further information about the carrier.

It is an M1 steel helmet in a Vietnam configuration. All parts except the reference date from the 1950's.

The liner is in very good condition and manufactured by Capac in 1951/52/53... i think here 1953. The chinstrap of the liner has an OD lacquered buckle and DOT studs. The Sweatband is from 1957.

The helmet itself is marked "M-123 A", so from the 1950's McCord production (1958? i read somewere...). The paint / Texture is original and still nice preserved.
At the front he has a beautifully painted Lieutenant Colonel "Silver Oak".

The clips of the chinstrap are painted OD, as well as the buckle.

The cover has a stitched Lt. Colonel patch. The cover itself is made of twill and has no manufacturer's mark. Holes were cut in for the chinstrap.

Unfortunately, the name tag is missing. One recognizes only remnants of adhesive.

    I look forward to opinions.

You have picked up a great looking early Vietnam O-5 set and all components look spot on 1950’s configuration. Do you have a picture of the stamp on the Mitchell cover?
